The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities begins his visit to
the United Arab Emirates by holding two press interviews
with the UAE newspaper Al Ittihad and The National.
Immediately after the arrival of Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities on Saturday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the Arab tourism market ATM 2021, which is scheduled to open on Sunday and will continue until May 19th, the minister held two lengthy interviews with al-Ittihad newspaper of the United Arab Emirates, the first and oldest newspapers published in the UAE, as well as with The National, a daily newspaper published in the UAE in English.
During the dialogue, the minister stressed on the importance of Egypt’s participation in this exhibition, which is the first major tourism exhibition to be organized since the Corona crisis that holds non-virtual attendance, pointing out that the Arab market is considered one of the important tourist markets for Egyptian tourism, it represents more than 20% of the tourist traffic coming to Egypt before the crisis of the Corona pandemic.
The minister spoke about the performance of Egyptian tourism during 2020 in light of the repercussions of the CRISIS of the CORONA virus, pointing out that the indicators of tourism coming to Egypt confirm that they are improving significantly since the resumption of tourism in July, where the number of tourists coming to Egypt since last July so far reached 3 million tourists from more than 20 countries around the world.
The conversation also addressed Egypt’s most prominent efforts to support the tourism movement and face the repercussions of this crisis, and the measures it has taken to resume tourist traffic.
The Minister reviewed the precautionary measures and measures and hygiene safety controls developed by Egypt and are applied in airports, tourist facilities, hotels, museums, and archaeological sites in Egypt to ensure the health and safety of all workers in the tourism sector, citizens, and tourists with the resumption of tourism coming to Egypt, explaining that the International Travel and Tourism Council WTTC has adopted these controls and granted Egypt the safe travel ring.
The minister pointed out that Egypt launched in April a campaign to vaccinate all workers in the tourism sector with anti-Corona virus vaccines, which began in the governorates of the Red Sea and South Sinai, pointing out that this campaign is carried out intensively in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population and the Chamber of Hotel Establishments.
The minister announced in his speech that he will cooperate with the Minister of Health within days to announce the completion of the vaccination of all workers in the sector in these two governorates, which receive the largest number of tourists in Egypt, which gives strong reassurance to all countries of the world towards travel to Egypt.
During his speech, Dr. Khaled El-Enany also highlighted Egypt’s tourism and its various and varied purposes, pointing out that Egypt enjoys a warm sun, a healthy sunny atmosphere, places and beaches of picturesque nature, in addition to its uniqueness in many museums and archaeological sites, giving it the opportunity to mix diverse tourist styles.
During the dialogue, they also asked the Minister about the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade and the success achieved by this event, where the minister pointed out that the success of the procession and its output with the civilized appearance that befits Egypt and the greatness of the ancestors created a passion for many not only to visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and to see royal mummies but to visit Egypt to listen to the civilized appearance of it, especially to beautiful Cairo after its development.
On Egypt’s continued announcement of various archaeological discoveries in 2020 despite the crisis, the minister stressed the importance of announcing these new archaeological discoveries, which are an important promotional and suspenseful element for Egyptian tourism and make everyone think about Egypt and travel to it, and contribute to the preservation of the mindful image of Egypt.
On the date of the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the minister explained that the appointment of this date will be related to the health situation in the whole world and not only in Egypt to choose the right time for all, pointing out that the details of this ceremony will be a big surprise to everyone and no less impressive than what Egypt presented during the Golden pharaohs parade, noting that there are other important events to be presented by Egypt during the coming period, including the celebration soon the opening of the new administrative capital, as well as: Alamein” city, and the “New Galala” city, and the opening of the Kebbash road in Luxor.
Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, is scheduled to open the Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition on Sunday (May 16th), and during his participation, he will hold several professional meetings with representatives of major tourism and aviation companies in the Arab market, and a number of media meetings with representatives of major newspapers, television channels and international news agencies.
