Samusocial International Egypt Hosts Landmark Conference on Protecting Mothers and Children in Street Situations

Samusocial International Egypt recently organized a high-level conference titled “Protection and Access to Rights for Mothers and Children in Street Situation.” This significant event was held with the generous support of the European Union Delegation to Egypt and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). Furthermore, the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development participated as a key supporter, alongside collaborators Shamseya and Tadwein.
Launching New Strategies for Social Protection
The conference successfully brought together prominent decision-makers, international development partners, and civil society organizations. Consequently, the event witnessed the launch of a comprehensive practical guide and a specialized study. This study meticulously assesses the legal, social, and institutional barriers facing young mothers and girls. Moreover, it provides a clear roadmap to overcome these challenges in street situations.

On the other hand, the newly launched guide identifies strategic pathways toward stronger social protection. It places a particular emphasis on the importance of establishing a legal identity for children and mothers. Additionally, these efforts aim to guarantee unhindered access to essential rights and public services.
